Rum

10 Cane

  • 10 Cane is the world’s best rum, handcrafted by the experts at Moët Hennessy, the world’s premier luxury spirits producer. Named for its distinctive harvesting method—ten perfect sugar cane stalks, hand-cut and carefully bundled—10 Cane represents the relaxed environment of Trinidad juxtaposed with the luxury and know-how of French distillation.

Produced in the sun-dappled, windswept island of Trinidad, 10 Cane is made from the first pressing of virgin sugar cane, grown and hand-harvested in the island’s rich, volcanic soil. The canes are gently pressed to extract only the first-press juice. The rest is discarded. Next, the liquid undergoes a meticulously controlled fermentation process and a small-batch double distillation process in alembic stills before being aged in old French oak barrels, mellowing the fresh cane flavor. For the first time, the centuries-old expertise of Moët Hennessy is brought to rum.

  • 10 Cane is made on the island of Trinidad, which is located south of the Caribbean archipelago and northeast of Venezuela. With a new formulation introduced in early 2011, 10 Cane now features additional ageing of its pure sugar cane juice rum and the blending in of aged molasses-based rums. Specifically, 10 Cane’s blend now contains sugar cane juice rum aged for 2 years as well as around 10% of molasses-based rums aged for 4 to 7 years. In addition to giving 10 Cane rum a light amber hue, the addition of aged rums gives the brand increased versatility in mixing drinks of all kinds.

The aim of 10 Cane’s Master Distillers was to craft a fresh, youthful rum with primary fruit aromas. 10 Cane has a fresh, lively sugar cane character with a smooth, velvety texture, achieving perfect harmony on the palate. Its unique taste profile, a balance of delicate and complex flavors, makes it a very versatile spirit to make cocktails. 10 Cane elevates any classic rum cocktails like Mojitos, Daiquiris or Cuba Libres, but can also be enjoyed sipped neat or on the rocks.
